Our Story
Nayab Cafe & Bakery opened its doors in Fairfax, Virginia with a simple vision: to bring authentic Afghan desserts, traditional teas, and warm hospitality to our community. As part of Halal Bazar, our family-owned halal grocery store, Nayab was created to expand on the flavors and traditions our customers have enjoyed for years. The café remains rooted in the same passion for fresh baked goods, quality ingredients, and authentic Afghan hospitality that inspired it from the beginning.
Our name, "Nayab," means rare or unique in Dari, reflecting our commitment to offering something truly special. Every recipe we serve is inspired by generations of family tradition, carefully preserved and perfected over time. From delicate Afghan roat to our signature sheer chai, each item reflects heritage, family, and culture. Our goal is to share Afghan and Middle Eastern flavors with a wider community while staying true to their authenticity.

About Halal Bazar
Halal Bazar is our family-owned halal grocery store that started it all. It offers a wide selection of Afghan and Middle Eastern groceries, halal meat, dry fruits, fruits and vegetables, and everyday household essentials. Its in-house bakery also prepares freshly made traditional items such as naan, taftoon, bolani, and chapli kabob, bringing authentic flavors to our community.
Over the years, Halal Bazar has become a trusted part of the DMV community and the foundation that made Nayab Cafe & Bakery possible. It is conveniently located right next door to the café at 11127 Lee Hwy, Fairfax, VA 22030.
